In 2003, Chris Kappmeyer purchased a
small Tarrytown home to move to
his ranch in Central Texas. He knew
that he needed to move his new home,
but found that very little
information was available to assist
him in making a sound decision as to
what company to use and what was
involved in making the move.
 He
plunged head first into a deal that
required all money to be paid up
front for the move without really
knowing who he was dealing with and
what would be involved in the moving
process. The move, which was
scheduled for 2 1/2 weeks, turned
into a 4 1/2 month project.
The founders of Come
& Take It Structural Movers, Chris
Kappmeyer and Rhett Hoestenbach,
saw a need to marry the professional
white-collar side of the
structural
business to the hard working
and
industrious
blue-collar side. They
developed what has now become the
most professional
structural
moving company in Central Texas.
Chris and Rhett's initial model
was to develop a company that would
move homes to lots they had already
purchased, fix the homes up, and
then sell them. This made sense with
Chris' real estate background. The
model was soon modified as a flood
of calls came in from customers
desiring straight moves from Point A
to Point B. Now, Chris and Rhett
proudly make those moves to
accommodate the needs of their
Central Texas neighbors. They have
not abandoned their own
entrepreneurial model of developing
lots, and continue to partner and
counsel with other Central Texans
who desire to develop their own lots
with recycled structures. This has
also led to Chris and Rhett
establishing an existing inventory
of structures, which can be
purchased and moved to existing lots
for personal or commercial purposes.
It became
very clear to the partners
that Central Texas had a need
for a professional house moving
company that was sufficiently
capitalized and expertly staffed.
The members of the crew are
extremely experienced and competent
in all aspects of structural moving
and rigging.
It was Chris and Rhett's goal to be
able to immediately respond to
customers' needs and to make sure
that they were fully informed of the
house moving process. It was also
their goal to ensure that the
customers felt secure in their
project, and that it would be
completed in a timely manner, with
as little headache as possible.
