The B-Side
My options: plant
an orchard, start a crochet league
or build another house. My
backyard was so big I wasn't sure
WHAT I should do with it!
I found out that my
zoning SF3 allowed for an additional
living space but after a disastrous
experience with an architect, I had
almost given up on my hopes to have
another house on my property.
Until the fateful day I saw the sign
for Come and Take It House Movers -
You can buy this house. We
will move it. Tell me more!
I called Chris Kappmeyer, explaining
my situation and my total lack of
knowledge and experience about house
moving how much did it cost to move?
What permits were required? How much
did he think renovation costs would
be? So many questions and I
recognized that I didn't even know
half of the questions I should be
asking.
Okay either my most
brilliant idea or the most stupid!
What can I say?
It WAS a brilliant idea! Chris
and his team were fabulous & so
helpful every step of the way from
getting the necessary permits from
the City of Austin, to delivering
the house to literally my back door
and helping me find reputable
contractors. They are honest,
charming, experienced and helpful.
My 1929 house,
complete with charm, has found a new
home and I figure I have definitely
earned my way into Recycle Heaven.
Such a great
experience and I highly recommend
Come and Take It House Movers
without one beat of hesitation.
